well, lots of passive-aggressive people do things or say things that SOUND or SEEM okay, but when you know their history or background, or if you're too close to them, it comes out passive-aggressive. I had a friend who used to be PA with me all the time, until finally I told her I hated how PA she came off as, and stopped talking to her. She gave me a very PA response which was something like, "Well, I don't see how you would interpret my words / actions that way...."
