Cool! My cut Corona beer glasses are on the CRAFT website!
In my Etsy shop.
I finally opened an Etsy shop of my own. Right now there are lovely necklaces and soon there will be other hand-crafted goodies.
I will also post any new listings on my other site: Mmmm, Bazaar.
The present I made for my sister's _____th birthday. This was made with beach glass collected from both the Pacific and Atlantic coasts as well as seashells from Cape Cod. I also weathered the wood frame by dry brushing with the light green paint.
There's another photo if you click on this one.
My July Color-iffic Swap-o-rama package was sent this morning to Portugal. The color theme this time was aqua/turquoise and chocolate brown. I hand painted the box and did not add flowers this time because 1) my secret partner does not like flowers and 2) she would have got them anyway if Michael's had not had ass for silk flowers. So, I made up a ribbon border with two different kinds of ribbons and some blue brads and then painted the detail on the top of the box with just glossy varnish on the blue paint. I think it came out rather nice.
Also, I'm getting used to mailing to Portugal at this point (since pretty much every time I've had a partner from there). I actually had to tell the man at the post office that no, I did not need to fill out (by hand?! I don't use a pen anymore!) 5 copies of the customs form because I had printed it out, with all the details, from their website. And, besides, Portugal only needs one copy and he needs to tape it to the package. He was clueless. To his coworker, who was thankfully less, um, stupid: "She's got some sort of computer-generated form here. Can we use this?" He handed me a pile of customs forms for next time anyway. Yeah, thanks.
Anyhoo, here's the package:
I finally uploaded the photos of the fancy photo cake. I created an 11" x 17" design and uploaded it to Icing Images.
They generally take about 2 weeks in total to print and ship the image, but I waited too long and had to rush it. The images on the design are a bit of an inside joke. They print it on a thin layer of icing material and then it arrives on a backing and in a plastic bag. You peel the icing layer off the backing and apply to fresh icing on your cake. They recommend putting it on white or light frosting as chocolate icing may make the design lose color.

What a sweet idea. Little Nadine has cancer and there is a little campaign to send her princess cards. Because she loves princesses. C'mon all you crafty people, send her a pretty card. More information and a mailing address at the link above.
For May. The color scheme this time was yellow and orange. This beauty is heading to...?
I'm thinking I might start selling these boxes. They are all hand painted and embellished with ribbons and silk flowers.
Here is a shot of the wire butterfly ornament:
And maybe sell the ornaments as well. What do you think?
Here is a shot of everything else that went with the package:
